ANOTHER
MESSIAH plays energetic, atmospheric and innovative metal
or in other words: post-doom metal. The young Dutch band (average
age 25) is unanimously praised for their ability to combine
huge loads of different styles, yet always maintaining a somber
and melancholic undertone. The dark atmosphere is enhanced
by the sound of a true classical oboe, which gives the band
an eye-catching appearance. Influences can be heard from bands
like My Dying Bride, Opeth, Gorefest, Rammstein and Orphanage.
However, sounds from styles that are far from metal are present
as well.
In 2003, ANOTHER MESSIAH released their first EP called
'Another Renaissance'. This mini-CD was enthusiastically
received and led to worldwide attention for the band and
their music. In 2004, ANOTHER MESSIAH entered the finals
of the Metal Battle, a national contest between 40 selected
metalbands. A nationwide and Central European tour followed,
after which the band started preparing for their first full
album. Joost van den Broek (Ayreon, After Forever) produced
this new album, which was largely recorded in the well-respected
Excess Studios in Rotterdam (NL). To promote the album,
a new tour through Poland followed. The record, which was
unofficially released on the 2nd of October 2005, received
great reviews, both nationally and internationally. In 2006,
ANOTHER MESSIAH is planning to tour a lot, let people enjoy
their music live and to take themselves to the national
and international top of innovative metal!
Aardschok:
'Another Messiah is a band we can be proud off!'
Dutch Progressive Rock Page: 'Another Messiah's debut full-length
album Dark Dreams is just terrific. It's innovative, heavy,
thoughtful, melodic, well-produced progressive metal from
a band that's going to go far.'
OOR: 'This first full album has become a metal-record that
MUST be able to force a breakthrough on a national as well
as international level'
Metalfan.nl: 'Dark Dreams, My Child: the best Dutch debut
album of 2005!'
Vampire-magazine.com: 'The use of both clean vocals and
deep (and great!) grunts, acoustic guitars, samples and
other effects makes this album really interesting and with
every listen I hear new elements, which shows the bands'
professionalism.'
